How many desks does a hybrid team actually need?

If people aren't in every day, a desk each may be more than a team needs. This shows how to size it.

   Start with how many days a week people are in. The office space calculator by spacebly (November 2026) works it out like this: team size × days in the office ÷ 5, rounded up.

   For example, a team of 10 in the office 3 days a week needs about 6 desks. At 45 sq ft per desk that's about 270 sq ft before meeting rooms.

   Check two things before you settle on a number. One is whether everyone comes in on the same days. If they do, you'll need closer to a desk each on those days. The other is how many meeting rooms you'll want when the team is together.
