Hybrid working makes it hard to know how many desks to look for. The office space calculator gives a quick starting point.

2. Enter how many days a week people are in the office.
3. Add any small meeting rooms for 4 to 6 people or large ones for 8 to 12 people.
As of November 2026 the maths is simple. Desks are team size times days in the office, divided by 5 and rounded up. Space is 45 sq ft per desk, plus about 100 sq ft for each small meeting room and 250 sq ft for each large one.
