A private office is a lockable, fully serviced office inside a flexible workspace building. You get your own space without the overhead of a conventional lease. The space type guide on spacebly (November 2026) says it suits growing teams of 2 to 50 who need privacy, security and a branded HQ. Typical terms run from 1 to 24 months on a rolling basis.
A managed office is a self contained floor that's fitted and run for you on a single monthly bill. It carries your branding and your culture. You don't take on the fit out risk.
The same guide says managed offices suit established teams of 20 to 250 who want a bespoke HQ without a 5 year lease. Typical terms are 12 to 36 months.
Pricing is quoted differently too. Private offices are usually priced per desk per month. Managed offices are usually priced per sq ft per year.
